Active Matter:
88 - 93 %
Application:

RXSOL-50-5005-025 is a blend of volatile liquid / steam distributions ratios that neutralise the acid contaminants in condensate and feed water thus providing protection against acid corrosion in the complete system. The most common cause of acid corrosion in condensate and feed water systems is dissolved carbon dioxide. Condensate control neutralises this acid and maintains the condensate and feed water in an alkaline condition
Used in medium and high-pressure boilers including ultra high-pressure boilers.

Fields Of Application:-
RXSOL-50-5005-025 is an effective neutralizing type corrosion inhibitor & oxygen scavanger  for steam condensation system. And can also be used to protect Boilers /Metals surfaces form corrosion. It removes oxygen efficiently in open feed systems and gives effective corrosion inhibition of boiler/exhaust gas economizer system surfaces . Its Chemical reaction by converting Fe2O3 (rust) to organic iron compound protect further IRON rust reaction .

Operating Process:-
RXSOL-CC72 neutralizes the acid components of feed water. The proportion of RXSOL-50-5005-025 depends upon the Carbon dioxide content of the condensate. Basically RXSOL-50-5005-025 neutralizes the acid contents & maintains the condensate and feed water in the alkaline condition.  It also protects copper based metals.

Packing Size:
25.00 Ltr.

Using Procedure:

RXSOL-50-5005-025 condensate is tested for PH to determine the dosage level. The PH limits are 8.3 - 9.0 . For an average system e. g. 10-M3, the dosage is approximately 0.65 ltr / day .

The necessary amount of RXSOL-50-5005-025 is required or injected as frequently as to maintain the pH of the condensate at the main condensate pump outlet between 8.6-9.5 .  The amines pass over with the steam and have the dual function of elevating the pH of the steam/condensate and putting a protective micro film on the system pipe work. Acidic condensate is the result of carbonic acid (H2CO3) being formed as CO2 is released in the steam.Condensate prevents corrosion by carbonic acid on live systems. Its filming properties also reduce corrosion on shut down lines, when moisture and oxygen are present.

Note:
  • Easy to use liquid treatment.
  • Neutralizes the acids occurring in the condensate system.
  • Less maintenance required. Lower operating costs and increased reliability.
  • Volatilizes and carries over with the steam and so is recycled. Dosage is economical and efficient.
  • Simple test to determine level of treatment.
  • Used for protection of condensate and feed water systems in boiler systems of all pressures.

Using Procedure:-

First of all flush the system with cold water to prevent evaporation rates and polymerization then the most economical method of using RXSOL-20-2008-HCF is by direct injection followed by recirculation washing, using tank cleaning machines.

Spraying Method:-

Using HCF as delivered in drums, spray onto areas where residue remains following rough washing leave for 10-45 minutes (but do not allow to dry), then butterworth at maximum pressure and warm water 60oC for at least 3 hours, checking that there is no foam remaining in the final stages.  Inspects tanks(s) and if desired result has been achieved fresh water rinse and dry.

**Make sure to take all safety precautions are followed when handling / spraying HCF**

Injection Method– not applicable.

Re-circulation Method:–

Fill tank with fresh water and heat up to warm 50oC .  IF a drop line is available on the tank line system, then start to circulate the water and add the required amount of Caustic flakes and HCF to make a 2.5% solution.  A stronger solution can be made, but be advised that too much Caustic and too high temperature will result in white powder all over the tank.  Under normal circumstances, between 2.5% and 4.5% will be sufficient strength.  If there is no drop line, then lower butterworth hoses into the tank from the pump stack header without machines attached and circulate through these hoses while you fill the solution material.

                                             * Use a strainer at the pump stack when circulating any solution.*

Increasing whitenes: Borax converts some of the water molecules to hydrogen peroxide, which is a whitening agent. Borax enhances the action of bleach, whether you add it separately or it is present in your laundry detergent.

Softens hard water: Borax has a high pH, a measure of the acidity and alkalinity of water. It softens water to a pH of about 8. A neutral pH is 7. Borax is a buffering agent, which keeps the water at the best pH for cleaning action.

Removes soap residue from your clothing: The borates in Borax work to keep soap dispersed throughout the load, so it is more likely to rinse out.

Neutralizes laundry odors: Borax inhibits fungi, which often grow in the moist environment of your washing machine and can give it a musty odor. It also helps get rid of ammonia odor in baby fabrics, diapers, bed pads and incontinence pads. Borax can also inhibit enzymes that produce body odor that can cling to workout clothing and the underarm areas of shirts.

Disinfects clothing: Borax inhibits many organisms, including fungi.

Application:

Dechlorination in municipal, pulp & paper, power, and textile water treatment plants, Oxygen scavenger – oil well drilling process  Mining industries Aluminum cation reaction

Industrial production and laboratory synthesis

On an industrial scale, sodium thiosulphate is produced chiefly from liquid waste products of sodium sulphide or sulphur dye manufacture. In the laboratory, this salt can be prepared by heating an aqueous solution of sodium sulphite with sulphur.

Principal reactions and applications

Thiosulfate anion characteristically reacts with dilute acids to produce sulfur, sulfur dioxide and water-

1.Na2S2O3 + 2HCl →2NaCl + S + SO2 + H2O

This reaction is known as a "clock reaction", because when the sulfur reaches a certain concentration the solution turns from colourless to a pale yellow. This reaction has been employed to generate colloidal sulfur. When the protonation is conducted at low temperatures, H2S2O3 (thiosulfuric acid) can be obtained. It is a somewhat strong acid with pKas of 0.6 and 1.7 for the first and second dissociation respectively.

Iodometry

In analytical chemistry, the most important use comes from the fact that the thiosulfate anion reacts stoichiometrically with iodine, reducing it to iodide as it is oxidized to tetrathionate:

Photographic processing

The terminal sulfur atom in S2O32− binds to soft metals with high affinity. Thus, silver halides, e.g. AgBr, typical components of photographic emulsions, dissolve upon treatment with aqueous thiosulfate:

2 S2O32− + AgBr →[Ag(S2O3)2]3−+ Br−

In this application to photographic processing, discovered by John Herschel and used for both film and photographic paper processing, the sodium thiosulfate is known as a photographic fixer, and is often referred to as hypo, from the original chemical name, hyposulphite of soda.

Gold extraction

Sodium thiosulfate is one component of an alternative lixiviant to cyanide for extraction of gold.[3] It forms a strong complex with gold(I) ions, [Au(S2O3)2]3−. The advantage of this approach is th

2 S2O32−(aq) + I2(aq) →S4O62−(aq) + 2 I−(aq)

Due to the quantitative nature of this reaction, as well as the fact that Na2S2O3•5H2O has an excellent shelf-life, it is used as a titrant in iodometry. Na2S2O3•5H2O is also a component of iodine clock experiments.

This particular use can be set up to measure the oxygen content of water through a long series of reactions. It is also used in estimating volumetrically the concentrations of certain compounds in solution (hydrogen peroxide, for instance) and in estimating the chlorine content in commercial bleaching powder and water.at thiosulfate is essentially non-toxic and that ore types that are refractory to gold cyanidation (e.g. carbonaceous or Carlin type ores) can be leached by thiosulfate. Some problems with this alternative process include the high consumption of thiosulfate, and the lack of a suitable recovery technique, since [Au(S2O3)2]3− does not adsorb to activated carbon, which is the standard technique used in gold cyanidation to separate the gold complex from the ore slurry.

Packing Size:
50.00 Kg.(PWD)

Using Procedure:

Process for DE CHLORINATION :::

Dissolve the 500 grams of Sodium Thiosulfate in a large pitcher of lukewarm tap water. Stir until all the crystals are dissolved. Then transfer the solution with a funnel to the gallon jug. Top off the jug to make a full gallon of stock solution.

  • Add two drops of the stock solution per one gallon of the water to be treated.
  • One gallon can treat 37,850 gallons or more. Over-dosage is virtually impossible.
Note:

Analytical chemistry

Sodium thiosulfate is also used in analytical chemistry. It can, when heated with a sample containing aluminum cation, produce a white precipitation:

2 Al3+ + 3 S2O32− + 3 H2O →3 SO2 + 3 S + 2 Al(OH)3

Medical

It is used as an antidote to cyanide poisoning. Thiosulfate acts as a sulfur donor for the conversion of cyanide to thiocyanate (which can then be safely excreted in the urine), catalyzed by the enzyme rhodanase.

It has also been used as treatment of calciphylaxis in hemodialysis patients with end-stage renal disease.[6]

It is used in the management of extravasations during chemotherapy. Sodium thiosulfate prevents alkylation and tissue destruction by providing a substrate for the alkylating agents that have invaded the subcutaneous tissues. The dose may be 2mL of 0.17M (a solution of 4mL 10% sodium thiosulfate and 6mL sterile water for injection). It may be instilled subcutaneously into multiple sites using a small gauge needle. There is limited data on this method with few recommendations.

in foot baths for prophylaxis of ringworm, and as a topical antifungal agent for tinea versicolor.

in measuring the volume of extracellular body fluid and the renal glomerular filtration rate.

Sodium thiosulfate is also used:

As a component in hand warmers and other chemical heating pads that produce heat by exothermic crystallization of a supercooled solution.

In bleach

In pH testing of bleach substances. The universal indicator and any other liquid pH indicators are destroyed by bleach, rendering them useless for testing the pH. If one first adds sodium thiosulfate to such solutions, it will neutralize the color-removing effects of bleach and allow one to test the pH of bleach solutions with liquid indicators. The relevant reaction is akin to the iodine reaction: thiosulfate reduces the hypochlorite (active ingredient in bleach) and in so doing becomes oxidized to sulfate. The complete reaction is:

4 NaClO + Na2S2O3 + 2 NaOH →4 NaCl + 2 Na2SO4 + H2O

To dechlorinate tap water for aquariums or treat effluent from waste water treatments prior to release into rivers. The reduction reaction is analogous to the iodine reduction reaction. Treatment of tap water requires between 0.1 grams and 0.3 grams of pentahydrated (crystalline) sodium thiosulfate per 10 liters of water.

To lower chlorine levels in swimming pools and spas following super chlorination.

To remove iodine stains, e.g. after the explosion of nitrogen triiodide.

Similarly, sodium thiosulfate reacts with bromine to render harmless products. Solutions of sodium thiosulfate are commonly used as a precaution in chemistry laboratories when working with bromine.

Process for DE CHLORINATION :::

Take 500 ml of Sodium Thiosulfate stock solution.

The Importance High-Pressure Cleaning

The job of high pressure cleaning can be done easier & quicker by simply using AquaTuff in correct dosages. Using a high pressure cleaner alone, without any CLEANER, will not  achieve  optimal cleaning results High-pressure cleaning primarily refers to cleaning of Hard  surfaces, such  as Decks, Tanks, Engine-rooms, etc. and in the majority of cases the cleaning is done according to the so-called two-step method:

Step 1:  Spraying the  AquaTuff over the area to be cleaned.
Step 2:   Washing down the area using a high-pressure water jet.

After the AquTuff has been  sprayed on the surface and  before the wash down begins, the chemicals penetrates & thoroughly moistens dirt & other grime. During wash down, the AquaTuff thoroughly dissolves the particles of dirt, even oil and fat, in the water spray and thus achieves optimal cleaning results. In addition to being more effective, the use of AquaTuff substantially reduces the time required for the Cleaning operation, as well as preventing dirt from reforming on the surface. The use of AquaTuff in correct dosages is half the job done.

General Cleaning :- AquaTuff can be used for all types of cleaning &  degreasing & may  be applied by  Brush, Hand spray, high and low pressure washing machines etc. Time necessary for cleaning depends on the nature and  thickness of the deposits. 20-30 min. will suffice for   most applications. Hardened, carbonised or aged deposits may require up to 4 hours. If  the cleaning  solution is not heavily contaminated, it may be re-used at a later stage. If allowed to cool, the de-gassing procedure must be repeated. Depending on degree of contamination AquaTuff should be mixed with warm water at a rate of 50-200 ml   per 10 litres. i.e. 1 cup of AquaTuff to a bucket of water. AquTuff solution can  be applied  simply by mops, brushes or rags, or by dipping the soiled articles into  the Aquatuff solution. After cleaning, rinse off with cold or warm water. Due to high foaming properties, AquaTuff is not recommended for washing machines.

20-50 % with fresh water . Also acts as an acid-neutralizing agent for Boiler & Colling systems during cleaning & maintenance.
Heavy Soil deposition                    Use Undiluted from to 20-50% diluted with water.
Medium soil deposition                 10-20%  diluted with water.
Light Soil ( general degreasing )   5-10% diluted with water.

Note:

For degreasing and removal of residues of minerals oil , coal stain and soot from surface.

6% Sodium Hypochlorite Solution. Disinfectant for use in drinking water. Use one drop of solution per 10 ltrs of drinking water, 600 ml of solution per 36 tons of drinking water.

General formulation to calculate  how much bleach is needed to add to a tank or a pipeline to disinfect it to a given chlorine residual using a given disinfectant. Usually someone wants to know how to meet an AWWA Standard (like C651-92, Disinfection of Water Mains). The equation below should be used to estimate the amount of sodium / Calcium hypochlorite (Chlorine Water is 6.00% sodium hypochlorite) needed to disinfect a given quantity of water to a desired chlorine concentration.

                                                                        req'd residual in ppm
  Valume of hypo  =  volume of water  x  (  ----------------------------- )
                                                                           1,000,000 x hypo %

For example , say you had installed a new 5,000 gallon tank and wanted to make sure that you had at least a 100 ppm solution of chlorine in it.

How much 6.00% Hypochlorite would you need to add  ?

  • (5,000 gal x 100 ppm) / (1,000,000 x .06) = 8.33 gallons

How much 12% Hypochlorite solution would you need ?

  • (5,000 gal x 100 ppm) / (1,000,000 x .12) = 4.17 gallons

If you use calcium hypochlorite (the white, powder version of chlorine, like HTH pool cleaner), the equation becomes:

                                                                                                              req'd residual in PPM
Wgt. of Calcium Hypo (lbs)= gal of water x 8.33 lb / gal m x   ( ----------------------------- )
                                                                                                               1,000,000 x hypo %

  • This is simply the previous equation multiplied by the conversion factor of 8.33 pounds per gallon of water.

Let's assume that we still need to disinfect 5,000 gallons at 100 ppm.

How many pounds of 65% calcium hypochlorite (HTH pool cleaner) are needed?

  • (8.33 lbs/ gal. x 5,000 gal x 100 ppm) / (1,000,000 x .65) = 6.4 pounds
Note:

Spraying - Following rough washing to a good Water White or better, apply dilute Bleach to 1 - 3% strength.  First wet the tank surface (spray with DI water), then spray all over with Bleach, wait 30 minute (but do not allow to dry) and then rinse very well with DI water, including the tank top towards the sump.  To ensure that you have covered all areas properly, this process should be carried out at least twice with good DI water.

Injection -no.

Re-circulation - Following rough washing  to a good Water White standard or better, apply dilute Bleach to 1-3% strength.  Mix sufficient Bleach with fresh water in the tank and heat this mixture to 40 - 500C, circulate through the drop line if fitted and than circulate through butterworth machine for 3 hours.  After re-circulation immediately warm butterworth to (500 C) the tank for 3 hours at maximum pressure, increase the water temperature to 80-850 C after 45 minutes.  Check (by smell) that there is no Bleach remaining, then fresh water rinse and dry.

** When there are a number of tanks requiring re-circulation, it may be significantly more efficient to make up a large batch or number of batches that can be transferred on between  tanks as required.

* Use a strainer at the pump stack when circulating any solution.
Tank Lining - Stainless / Zinc / Epoxy / Phenolic (Extreme care must be taken if product other than bleach substitute is to be used in any coated space).

**These products become more aggressive with temperature increase, and should not be allowed to dry on tank walls or stored in cargo tanks as cleaning solution or slops.

GENERAL RECOMMENDATION : ( The dosage chart may be used as a guide to adjust treatment to obtain the optimum level.)

Nitrite (as PPM NO2)100-200300-600700-9001100-1300
RXSOL-40-4001-025 / 1000L8.0  7.37-8 5-7   1.5-3.5

NOTE ::: --   If nitrite level becomes 1440-2400 then doses should be ZERO.

The initial dosage for an untreated system is 8 liters of product per 1000 liters of water. Such a dose will bring nitrite levels over 1200 ppm. Maximum nitrite level is considered to be 2400 ppm. Frequent tests should be carried out in order to maintain pH values within the limit (8.3-10.0), while levels of chloride should be maximum 50 ppm.

Note:

Initial dosage for an untreated system is 9 litres of RXSOL-40-4001-025 / 1000 litres of untreated distilled water. This will bring the treatment up to the minimum level of 1000 ppm nitrite. For best result and prolonged engine life add RXSOL-40-4001-025 every 500 -6500 km. or 250 to 300 hours of running time or every 2 month interval. Specially designed for use in  water systems of internal combustion equipment. pH should be maintained between 8.3 and 10 by the treatment.

RXSOL-40-4001-025 will react with sludge and in most cases, facilitate sludge gradual removal. On badly fouled systems with oil or scale, a prior degreasing by using DEGREASER HEAVY DUTY or descaling by using DEGREASER HEAVY DUTY, SCALE REMOVER LIQUID or SCALE REMOVER POWDER is highly recommended.

Supply Location:

During Circulation of water mainly controlling of 2 factors required : -

SCALE CONTROL in closed water cooling systems - Diesel and gas engines releasing high temperature due to that water present in jacket cooling system  increases its tendency to deposit scale. To avoid scale formation water softener like Zeolite  gradual buildup of scale in cylinders and cylinder heads. Where condensate is available, it is preferred for closed system cooling water makeup. Where condensate is not available, zeolite softening should be applied to the makeup water.

CORROSION CONTROL An increase in water temperature causes an increase in corrosion. At high temperature  solubility of oxygen in water decreases due to that Corrosion rates increasing inside the system.  This occurs because the lower solubility of oxygen with increasing temperatures in a freely vented system decreases the corrosion rate faster than the rise in temperature increases it. However, in many closed systems, the dissolved oxygen entering the system in the makeup water cannot be freely vented, resulting in the release of oxygen at points of high heat transfer, which may cause severe corrosion. Untreated systems can suffer serious corrosion damage from oxygen pitting, galvanic action, and crevice attack. Closed cooling systems that are shut down periodically are subjected to water temperatures that may vary from ambient to 180°F (82°C) or higher. During shutdown, oxygen can enter the water until its saturation limit is reached. When the system is returned to high-temperature operation, oxygen solubility drops and the released oxygen attacks metal surfaces.

The three most reliable corrosion inhibitors for closed cooling water systems are chromate, molybdate, and nitrite materials. Generally, the chromate or molybdate types have proven to be superior treatments.

Industrial Area:

What is closed cooling system ?
The full closed cooling system is designed to circulate cooling water through the block and exhaust manifold.  water is circulated through water pump to heat exchanger tank and be pumped through many small tubes where it will exchange heat from the water of the circulating system. Then water exits the heat exchanger to go directly into the risers and then exit the boat. The exhaust manifold and riser will be blocked off, so no water will transfer between them. As for the circulating water in the closed cooling system, cool water will enter the engine through the circulating pump and circulate through the engine. The water will heat up in the engine and the warm water will exit at the water outlet on top of the manifold and head to the manifolds. After circulating through the manifolds, the hot water will head to the heat exchanger to exchange the heat it's carrying with the raw water. After the exchange the cool circulating water exits the heat exchanger and returns to circulating pump to begin another loop.

AQUA TUFF HIGH FOAM LIQUID - HD (RXSOL-22-3033-025)

The Importance of Rx Tuff by High-Pressure Cleaning

The job of high pressure cleaning can be done easier & quicker by simply using RxTuffin correct dosages.

3 Pieces of Good Advice:
Apply  RxTuffon dry surface where possible! A dry surface will absorb far better than a wet surface. When applying RxTuff on vertical surfaces: Start application from the bottom and work upwards! If beginning from the top and going downwards, the RxTuff may produce "channels" down the surface, thereby running too fast off the surface. During high pressure cleaning: It is important that the rinsing water does not run over non-cleaned surfaces! The rinsing water can draw soap from the surface if running over non-cleaned surfaces. High pressure together with optimum concentration of RxTuff will give the best effect .

Product Description:-RxTuff is a superior & powerful alkaline cleaner containing corrosion inhibitors to prevents the corrosion of   metals . It is low toxic product with an exceptional solvency power on soil & oily  matter & having good foaming qualities. It is free from Hydrocarbon solvents , Biodegradable and minimizes the extreme hazards to personnel in handling materials .

Applications:-RxTuff Suitable for cleaning engine components like fuel and  Lube oil filters, Injection nozzles, pump components, inlet  and  exhaust valves &  primarily refers to cleaning of  hard surfaces, such as Decks, Tanks, Engine-rooms,  etc. can be used for all  types of cleaning and degreasing and  may be applied by brush, handspray, high and low pressure washing machines etc.

Directions for Use and Dose Rates:
General Cleaning:- RxTuff can be used for all types of cleaning &  degreasing & may  be applied by  Brush, Hand spray, high and low pressure washing machines etc. Depending on degree of contamination RxTuff should be mixed with warm water at a rate of 50-200 ml   per 10 litres. i.e. 1 cup of RxTuff to a bucket of water. RxTuff solution can  be applied  simply by mops, brushes or rags, or by dipping the soiled articles into  the RxTuff solution. After cleaning, rinse off with cold or warm water. Due to high foaming properties, RxTuff is not recommended for washing machines.

Tank Cleaning:-Cargo tank cleaning to remove residues of Mineral, Animal, Vegetable or Fish oil, Waxes  &  Soot from inert gas systems.

Method of Application and Dose Rates:-

  • Direct injection method for tank washing machines. Dose rate 1-5 litres per ton wash water (0.1-0.5%).
  • Recirculation method. Dose rate 1-7 litres per ton wash water (0.1-0.7%).
  • Spot cleaning. Hand spray neat or diluted with up to 5 parts water and leave for several minutes before rinsing off with clean water.

Cleaning of Cargo Tanks to Remove Soot from Inert Gas Systems:-

  • Spray RxTuff  on with a high pressure cleaning machine and  use 1:6 with water. If used with hand sprayer, spray  the product  neat onto the surface, allowing 1 lit. for every 12 m2. Use a 5-8% solution in a tank washing machine.
  • Leave for about 30-45 minutes. The surface should be kept wet.
  • Wash down with hot water (80°C) and check the cargo tank.
  • Repeat the procedure if necessary.

Due to compatibility and non hazardous nature of Aquatuff makes it superior all purpose cleaner for tank and cargo hold cleaning to essential maintenance tasks in the engine room, or general cleaning of crew and galley areas, every cleaning task.

Heavy Soil deposition                    Use Undiluted or up to 5% dilution with water.
Medium soil deposition                 10-20%  diluted with water.
Light Soil ( general degreasing )   5-10% diluted with water.

It can be use as an acid-neutralizing agent for Boiler & Colling systems during cleaning & maintenance.

General Cleaning Method :

Step 1:  Spraying the  AquaTuff over the area to be cleaned.
Step 2:   Washing down the area using a high-pressure water jet after 10-20 minutes

After the AquaTuff has been  sprayed on the surface and  before the wash down begins, the chemicals penetrates & thoroughly moistens dirt & other grime. During wash down, the AquTuff thoroughly dissolves the particles of dirt, even oil and fat, in the water spray and thus achieves optimal cleaning results. In addition to being more effective, the use of AquaTuff substantially reduces the time required for the Cleaning operation, as well as preventing dirt from reforming on the surface. The use of AquaTuff in correct dosages is half the job done.

Note:- For boiler  fire  side  cleaning, a 10-20 % hot  solution, (temp. above 40°C),  should   be  sprayed on  to  the surfaces to be cleaned. Allow to  penetrate for 20 minutes and flush off. For deposits  which are very hard to remove, increase the concentration to 50% and repeat if necessary.
