RXSOL ORG 7914  is a polymeric, cationic biocide that has been developed for controlling the growth of algae, bacteria, and fungi in recirculating water systems such as cooling towers, evaporative condensers, closed cooling water systems and industrial air-washing systems.

Application: 

Algae are microscopic plants that grow rapidly in cooling towers, spray ponds and other recirculating systems exposed to sunlight. These free-floating growths can be carried to the condenser or heat exchanger by the condenser or heat exchanger by the recirculating water where they lodge and act as binders for sludge and suspended matter. In addition, algae can contribute to the formation of slime deposits by providing organic matter necessary for the growth of bacteria. These biological growths restrict water flow, reduce heat transfer efficiency and increase head pressures, all of which result in lower efficiency and increased power and service costs. Treatment of recirculation water with RXSOL ORG 7914  Algaecide prevents growths of algae and bacteria from developing to the point where they cause the problems described.

Using Procedure: 

Initial Dosage: When the system is just noticeably fouled, slug 50- 150 ml  RXSOL ORG 7914 Biocide  Algaecide for each 4000 Ltrs of water in the system to provide a concentration of 16–40 ppm of  RXSOL ORG 7914 Biocide  Algaecide . Repeat until control is achieved.

Subsequent Dosage: Subsequent additions of 15-150 ml of RXSOL ORG 7914 Biocide  Algaecide per 4000 Ltrs of water (4–40 ppm) should be employed on a continuous basis through use of the RXSOL Wholesaler Drip Feeders. Use 1/6 of a gallon per month for every 50 gallon per hour of bleed off that is being maintained on the system and the recommended residual (4–40 ppm) will be achieved.

Using Procedure: 

Routine dosage of Rcocide BC 601 to 50 to 100ppm. based on the total water capacity of the system. Dosage will be necessary once or twice per week depending on the severity of the problem.

For badly fouled systems, initial higher dosage of 100-150 ppm. should be given for the first week or two.

The calculate quantity of biocide should be added directly to the system at any convienient point.

1st of all by stripping suction removes all possible oil (greasy materials). To prevents evaporation of lighter fraction oil flush the system with cold water.May be brushed on, sprayed (Hand spray/Direct injection) recirculate  the system with RXSOL-16-3003-020 Solution

Sodium metabisulfite  is an inorganic compound frequently used as a disinfectant, antioxidant and preservative agent.  It is used as a cleaning agent for potable water reverse osmosis membranes in desalination systems. It is also used to remove chloramine from drinking water after treatment.

Application: 

Dechlorination 

When RO or NF membrane is used in the RO/NF process, the feed must be dechlorinated to prevent oxidation of the membrane. RO membranes have some chlorine tolerance before noticeable loss of salt rejection is observed. The first sign of chlorine attack on RO/NF membrane is loss of membrane flux followed by an increase in membrane flux and salt passage. Eventual degradation may occur after approximately 200–1,000 hours of exposure to 1 mg/L of free chlorine (200–1,000 ppm-h tolerance). The rate of chlorine attack depends on various feed water characteristics. Under alkaline pH conditions, chlorine attack is faster than at neutral or acidic pH. An acidic pH is preferred for better biocidal effect during chlorination. Chlorine attack is also faster at higher temperatures and higher concentrations of heavy metals (e.g., iron), that can catalyze membrane degradation. Since oxidation damage is not covered under warranty, Technical person always recommends removing residual free chlorine by pretreatment prior to exposure of the feed water to the membrane. Other oxidizing agents such as chlorine dioxide, hydrogen peroxide, ozone, and permanganate are capable of damaging RO/NF membranes also if not used properly. 

Residual free chlorine can be reduced to harmless chlorides by activated carbon or chemical reducing agents. An activated carbon bed is very effective in the dechlorination of RO feed water according to following reaction: 

C+2Cl2 +2H2O→4HCl+CO2 

Sodium metabisulfite (SMBS) is commonly used for removal of free chlorine and as a biostatic. Other chemical reducing agents exist (e.g., sulfur dioxide), but they are not as cost-effective as SMBS. 

When dissolved in water, sodium bisulfite (SBS) is formed from SMBS: Na2S2O5 + H2O → 2 NaHSO3 

SBS then reduces hypochlorous acid according to: 2NaHSO3 + 2HOCl → H2SO4 + 2HCl + Na2SO4 

In theory, 1.34 mg of sodium metabisulfite will remove 1.0 mg of free chlorine. In practice, however, 3.0 mg of sodium metabisulfite is normally used to remove 1.0 mg of chlorine. 

 

The SMBS should be of food-grade quality and free of impurities. SMBS should not be cobalt-activated. Solid sodium metabisulfite has a typical shelf life of 4–6 months under cool, dry storage conditions. In aqueous solutions, however, sodium bisulfite can oxidize readily when exposed to air. A typical solution life can vary with concentration as follows:

Although the dechlorination itself is rapid, good mixing is required to ensure completion. Static mixers are recommended. The recommended injection point is downstream of the cartridge filters in order to protect the filters by chlorine. In this case, the SMBS solution should be filtered through a separate cartridge before being injected into the RO feed. Dechlorinated water must not be stored in tanks. 

When RO/NF membranes are fouled with heavy metals such as Co and Cu, residual SBS (up to 30 ppm) partially converts to oxidants under the presence of excessive oxygen. When there is a heavy potential for metal fouling, SBS dosing amount control must be optimized and oxidation conditions of the concentrate must be monitored by an oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) meter. 

The absence of chlorine should be monitored using an oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) electrode downstream of the mixing line. 175 - 200 mV threshold readings of the ORP have been typically applied. The electrode signal shuts down the high pressure pump when chlorine is detected.

This product is formulated to be injected neat. However, if a dilution is required, use demineralized or RO permeate water. If neither of these is available, softened water may be substituted. The dilution for Vitec 1000 should not result in a solution strength of less than 10%. Using Procedure: 

For optimum results dose RXSOL-50-5002-020 direct to the boiler with a RXSOL Boiler Water Treatment Dosing unit, or via the bypass pot- feeder installed in the boiler feed line.

Required dosage can be controlled by pH & alkalinity test dosage chart .  
One (1) milliliter of RXSOL-50-5002-020 concentrated alkaline liquid per ton of distilled water provides 0.5 ppm of lkalinity hydrate.
 

Low-pressure boiler (up to 28 bars)

Add RXSOL-50-002-020 to 5 litre in feed – water, There is no any specific method can be passed through the recalculating or the main feed pipe into the stream or the hot well tank.

High – Pressure Boiler (28 to 60 bars)

Dissolve the desired volume of RXSOL-50-002-020 to 5 ltr of feed – water, which should then be passed  into the stream or water drum through the chemical pump.

Using Procedure: 

For optimum results dose RXSOL-50-5002-025 direct to the boiler with a RXSOL Boiler Water Treatment Dosing unit, or via the bypass pot- feeder installed in the boiler feed line.

Required dosage can be controlled by pH & alkalinity test dosage chart .  

1 milliliter of RXSOL-50-5002-025 concentrated alkaline liquid per ton of distilled water provides 0.5 ppm of lkalinity hydrate.

Low-pressure boiler (up to 28 bars)

Add RXSOL-50-002-025 to 5 litre in feed – water, There is no any specific method can be passed through the recalculating or the main feed pipe into the stream or the hot well tank.

High – Pressure Boiler (28 to 60 bars)

The Importance High-Pressure Cleaning

The job of high-pressure cleaning can be done easier & quicker by simply using AquaTuff incorrect dosages. Using a high-pressure cleaner alone, without any CLEANER, will not  achieve  optimal cleaning results High-pressure cleaning primarily refers to cleaning of Hard  surfaces, such  as Decks, Tanks, Engine-rooms, etc. and in the majority of cases the cleaning is done according to the so-called two-step method:

Step 1:  Spraying the  AquaTuff over the area to be cleaned.
Step 2:   Washing down the area using a high-pressure water jet.

After the AquTuff has been sprayed on the surface and before the wash down begins, the chemicals penetrate & thoroughly moistens dirt & other grime. During wash down, the AquaTuff thoroughly dissolves the particles of dirt, even oil and fat, in the water spray and thus achieves optimal cleaning results.In addition to being more effective, the use of AquaTuff substantially reduces the time required for the Cleaning operation, as well as preventing dirt from reforming on the surface. The use of AquaTuff in correct dosages is half the job done.

General Cleaning :- AquaTuff can be used for all types of cleaning &  degreasing & may  be applied by  Brush, Hand spray, high and low-pressure washing machines etc. Time necessary for cleaning depends on the nature and thickness of the deposits. 20-30 min. will suffice for   most applications. Hardened, carbonised or aged deposits may require up to 4 hours. If  the cleaning solution is not heavily contaminated, it may be re-used at a later stage. If allowed to cool, the de-gassing procedure must be repeated. Depending on the degree of contamination AquaTuff should be mixed with warm water at a rate of 50-200 ml   per 10 litres. i.e. 1 cup of AquaTuff to a bucket of water. The aqutuff solution can be applied  simply by mops, brushes or rags, or by dipping the soiled articles into  the Aquatuff solution. After cleaning, rinse off with cold or warm water. Due to high foaming properties, AquaTuff is not recommended for washing machines.

Preparation

Preparing Cargo Holds for loading Grain depends on the previous cargo.

1. Cargo Holds must be thoroughly cleaned and dry and trace of previous cargo in frames, beams, girders, and other structure.

2. There should not be any loose rust and or paint scale anywhere in the Cargo Holds, Bulkheads, upper and lower hopper spaces, underneath of Hatch Covers and tank top.

3. There should not be traces of live & dead insect & weevils.

4. Bilge covers should be cleaned of any cargo residues and have enough drain holes. Bilge cover needs to be grain tight but not watertight.

5. Bilge well should be cleaned of previous cargo dray and odour free.

6. Bilge suction should be operational at all the times. 

 

Removal of cargo residue:

Air Blow from top using high pressure air to reach all accessible corners. Cargo to be swept, scrapped & collected in a drum. Attention to be given

To prevent oil sludge deposits when feedwater becomes contaminated by oil. Boiler Coagulant prevents the formation of deposits on boiler internal surfaces. Sludge is kept dispersed in small particles and conditioned to be removed by normal blowdown. In this way tube overheating due to deposits is avoided.

Boiler Coagulant can also be used where minor oil contamination has been experienced, the oil being required to be coagulated for removal by blowdown. However, it must be noted that if oil contamination is continuous and excessive, off-line cleaning will be required. The source of oil contamination must be stopped immediately.

Using Procedure: 

Boiler Coagulant  initial dosage is 25 ml of treatment daily for every ton of boiler capacity. Daily bottom blowdown is required when using Boiler Coagulant.It must be dosed to boiler water that is maintained in an alkaline condition. For systems experiencing severe oil contamination, off-line cleaning is desirable. After the equipment is cleaned, dose rate of 25 mls per day per ton of water capacity for two weeks or until complete oil removal is accomplished. If severity of contamination persists, the possibility of additional oil in leakage should be investigated and eliminated.

Feeding: Boiler Coagulant  may be dissolved with other boiler treatment chemicals and fed directly to the boiler by means of a bypass pot feeder or suitable chemical injection pump. For lowpressure boilers, the solution may be dosed to the hotwell or the condensate return tank.

Operating Process:-
RXSOL-CC72 neutralizes the acid components of feed water.The proportion of RXSOL-50-5005-025 depends upon the Carbon dioxide content of the condensate. Basically RXSOL-50-5005-025 neutralizes the acid contents & maintains the condensate and feed water in the alkaline condition.  It also protects copper based metals.

Using Procedure: 

RXSOL-50-5005-025 condensate is tested for PH to determine the dosage level. The PH limits are 8.3 - 9.0 . For an average system e. g. 10-M3, the dosage is approximately 0.65 ltr / day .

The necessary amount of RXSOL-50-5005-025 is required or injected as frequently as to maintain the pH of the condensate at the main condensate pump outlet between 8.6-9.5 .  The amines pass over with the steam and have the dual function of elevating the pH of the steam/condensate and putting a protective micro film on the system pipe work. Acidic condensate is the result of carbonic acid (H2CO3) being formed as CO2 is released in the steam.Condensate prevents corrosion by carbonic acid on live systems. Its filming properties also reduce corrosion on shut down lines, when moisture and oxygen are present.

Bentonite can be Broadely classified in 2 grades :
 

Granular: Granular is the preferred option for filling trenches where the conductor is covered with Bentonite and then water poured over and mixed in the trench.

 

Powder: Powder is the preferred method for pouring into bore holes to en-sure the mixture is of a thin enough consistency to reach the bottom of the bore hole. If diamond drilling is required for deep holes, possible 40m depths and deeper and the Bentonite is to be pumped through the core in to the hole, then powder would be the preferred option.
